Solution/Action:
Remove the Control Panel assembly:
1. Remove the Ribbon Platform.
2. Reach under the Control Panel assembly and
unplug the cable.
3. Loosen the four screws under the Control
Panel at the bottom edge of the frame then lift the Control
Panel from the printer.
4. Loosen the two screws holding the Control
Panel to the metal frame then lift the Control Panel free from
the frame.
5. Looking at the back side of the Control Panel
circuit board, check that the crystal (Y1) is not touching
(shorting) the pins of U2 (see illustration).
