Light Print, Blank Print or Black Print - mL280, LN28, mL402

Issue / Symptom:  Pages print very light or blank, or only black pages print.

Cause: A high voltage contact has been deformed.

NOTE: The printer should never be shipped with the print cartridge installed. This will cause damage to the HV contacts.

Resolution:

• Turn the printer power off.
• Open the top cover.
• Remove the print cartridge and stow it in a light proof area.
• Examine the guide on the inside right of the printer

• Light or blank print would be caused by the Developer Bias contact marked A.
• Black print would be caused by the Charge Roll contact marked B.
• Examine the contacts- both should appear alike.
• Usually the contact is just dislodged and can be put back into place by lifting on the bottom of the contact.
• If the contact cannot be repaired by reforming it, then Guide CRU-R Assy 032K93933 must be replaced by a technician.
