Issue / Symptom:
No printing, or incorrect
printing when connected to an H-P Jet Direct EX Plus or 3 EX
Plus print server. The printer may ignore control codes, pause
during printing, or print partial jobs.
CAUSE: The JetDirect parallel interface is not configured to
match the 930 interface |

Procedure:
In JetAdmin 2.3x, 2.4, or 2.5x
for Windows :
- Select Device, Modify.
- Select NEXT until the Optional menu is reached.
- Select the JetDirect/EX icon.
- Select Centronics under the Parallel Mode: speed connection
- Select nACK and Busy under the Parallel Handshaking,
Communication Protocol.
- Turn the JetDirect power off, then on.
TEST: To test the connection between the HP JetDirect EX Plus
and the printer:
- Connect the printer to Parallel Port 1 on the JetDirect. Only
Port 1 on the JetDirect 3 EX Plus will print the test page.
- Ensure the printer is on-line.
- Press the TEST key on the JetDirect for 10 seconds.
- After about 30 seconds, the JetDirect status page should
print.
- Examine the status page for any incorrect text.
- If the test page does not print correctly, there is a problem
between the JetDirect
and the printer.
- If the test page prints correctly, but jobs do not print
correctly from the system,
there is a problem between the JetDirect and the host system.
