Resolution:
If you install a DRAM SIMM memory upgrade in the Proline printer
and are getting errors
running the internal memory test, the problem could be
incompatible DRAM SIMMS. The CMX
was specified to use DRAM SIMM memory with access time of 70
nsec. The DRAM SIMMS
marked with manufacturers “IOI” or DRAM manufacturer “EtronTech”
have a 60 nsec access
time and will cause memory errors when used with SIMMS from
other suppliers that have a 70
nsec access time. All DRAM SIMMS must be of the same speed,
preferably 70 nsec. If you
have a CMX with factory installed DRAM SIMMS and are not adding
more memory the CMX will
work okay with whatever manufacturer SIMMS are on the PCBA. The
problem is seen only
when adding additional memory and mixing DRAM speed.. All other
manufacturers SIMMS
used in Proline printers have a 70 nsec access time.
